Many of you know that we have had two houses for almost 3 years. We stayed in our patio home until Jan. 07 when our remodel was finished and our red brick house (my grandparents) was finally livable. This Spring 08 Scott and his Dad completed the shower remodel at our patio home. We decided to try and sell that house rather than deal with trying to rent it out. Our realtor got the for sale sign up on a Wed. and by Monday we had a full price offer on our house! We had priced it low to sell. Well, over the last month the escrow process and home inspection took place. Everything went through and we are minus one mortgage payment! We feel so absolutely blessed by God to allow everything to happen and for it to happen so quickly. Over the years, I tried to keep trusting God with our house situation; it has been so awesome seeing how He provided for us! I'm thankful for His timing since my vacation/sick time has run out and we will soon be on one income and have our little one.
Another blessing was that on Monday I got to go to the bank and payoff our Home Equity Line of Credit. It felt really good to write that check! So the Kelleys have about $175k less in debt than 2 weeks ago. We are thankful for the wisdom of Dave Ramsey (author/radio host) who encourages people to make sacrifices to get out of debt and pay cash for things so we are not slaves to lenders (banks etc.) . We feel so blessed to be free from car, credit card, and student loan debt. God is good! We continue to pray that God would give us all wisdom regarding our finances!
