August can be a tough month for my family.
We remember my Dad's birthday (August 2nd) and the day he went to Heaven (August 6th)
I want Claire to know about the Grandpa she will never meet on this earth.
I want her to know what a loving and encouraging Daddy he was to me.
My Dad lived his life in and out of hospitals with countless surgeries (leg/foot amputations, kidney dialysis, quadruple bypass surgery) etc.
He had a great attitude and was such a buck!
He has been in Heaven for 3 years and we miss him terribly! He and I had a conversation several months before he went to be with Jesus about me being a mom.
He told me that I would be a good mom and he was sorry and sad
that he wouldn't be around to see it.
On the night he left us- I was filled with such sadness that I remember desperately wanting to have a baby so I could give the love I had for my dad to my child.
I will make sure Claire knows about him!
My father was such an awesome example to me! He left a legacy of love and faith for his family!
Here is my mom and Claire infront of my Dad's picture on Aug. 2nd.
My dad would have been 60 this year!

On August 6th we went to visit my Dad's Dad in the nursing home he lives in. We thought this would be a special day for Claire to meet her Great- Grandad- he is 91 and a half!
Grandad smiled and said, "She's a Dandy!"
He knew she was my daughter and we video-taped the meeting.
He also sang "you are my sunshine" and yodeled for us!
My grandad is a great example of the proverb that says a cheerful heart prolongs a man's days!
It was a special time! We also celebrated my Aunt Marla's (my Dad's sister) birthday that night.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith- of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter 1:6-7
I pray that when Jesus is revealed or even now-
my dad's faith and his life will bring glory to the God he loved and served!
Remember!
Amanda
