Claire & I joined my mom and her work friends on a trip to the beach. We stayed right near the beach. I loved hearing the ocean waves crashing each night as we went to sleep. We had a great ocean view from our balcony! Claire was really good the whole trip! She did a great job in the car. I think she just likes to be on the go! She was in her car seat A LOT! We strolled her around town and on a path that overlooks the ocean. She sometimes sleeps her best in that heavy car seat! One day we went to Balboa Island in Newport Beach and walked around. We took her to the beach a few times and put her in her Sundome- which is a blasted thing to get back folded up- ask my mom- I personally do not even attempt to get it folded! Although we missed Scott, it was nice to have a break from the heat and to enjoy the ocean. But, vacations with a baby are a little different! We had to account for feeding, naps, dirty diapers etc.
Claire started trying to sit up while we were away! We put her against the head board and she would lean forward and then fall over to the side! So cute!
On our last morning, my mom took Claire and I so enjoyed a solitary walk on the beach. I talked with God, sang, and pondered life. I watched the waves crashing over the rocks- which always calms and relaxes me. As I continued to watch those waves keep coming over and over again, I was reminded of God's faithfulness. It keeps coming just like those waves. I recently read the Beatty's blog and was very touched by Dana's words on watching the waves and how God spoke to her in that time. Thank you Dana, for sharing your heart!
By the way, I am so enjoying reading everyone's blogs and keeping updated on all our busy lives! Know that you are in our prayers and I'm thankful to stay connected through these blogs.
