This is a great date movie! With all the trash that is in the movie theaters and on tv- we need to support wholesome, clean, and entertaining projects like this one!
Last night Scott and I got to go on a date! My mom watched Claire and we went to see a movie. Scott just got back from a men's retreat and he had heard about the movie Fireproof, so he suggested we go see it.
It was a great story about fighting for your marriage. In this culture that constantly devalues marriage, it was so refreshing to leave the movie theater actually feeling encouraged. For me, many of the movies or books I've read leave me feeling dissatisfied with my husband. Scott often doesn't live up to the unrealistic expectations of many leading men in movies and books (they are called fiction for a reason!) This movie, like the book Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, made me feel so thankful for Scott and the great yet imperfect man that he is.
I encourage you to go see the movie- it's a great date movie. I think every married couple should see it. The movie will have some ideas and scenes that will stick with you. It painted a picture of many of the marriage books/studies we've done over the last 5 years. I want to add it to our dvd collection when it comes out.
The movie had been built up for Scott, so he was a little disappointed with the cinematic production, but we both enjoyed the story. Perhaps Scott and I will do the Love Dare as well!

Haven't seen this yet, but just wanted to say that Redeeming Love is one of my favorite books! Hopefully we will get a chance to see this sometime too. :-)
