Prayer for the Election

Countdown: Three Days - A Guide for Prayer
"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chron. 7:14

This weekend, as we look ahead at a tremendously important week, I am reminded again of the critical need to pray. Here is a simple guide for prayer as we lift our nation before the Lord.
Pray for:
*Those running for office at the national, state, and local levels.
Pray that men and women of righteousness will be elected to every office. Prov. 14:34, Prov. 29:2, 2 Sam. 23:3-4
Pray for wise counsel and discernment for our leaders. Phil. 1:9-11
Pray for our leaders to be guided by God. Prov. 21:1
*Those voting.
Pray for citizens to vote, resisting complacency and passivity. Amos 6:1
Pray for discernment and wisdom for voters. Is. 11:2-3
*Those involved in the election process.
Pray that election officials will be strengthened to complete their work accurately. Ps. 68:35
Pray that every official will serve with integrity. Prov. 11:1
*Those praying.
Pray that God would raise up men, women, and children across this nation to intercede. Ezek. 22:30
*The Church.
Pray that God would continue to awaken the Church to be engaged and empowered during this critical season. Is. 9:7
*Our Nation.
Pray that God's plans and purpose for our nation would be established during this election season. Ps. 33:11, Is. 46:10
Pray that God's will would be done in our nation. Matt. 6:10
*Marriage
Pray for the preservation of marriage between one man and one woman. Matt. 19:4-5
Pray for a triumphant victory for marriage on November 4th in Arizona, California, and Florida. Heb. 13:4
Be encouraged and take heart. God is in control, and He hears our prayers. "Blessed be God, because He has not rejected my prayer or removed His steadfast love from me!" Ps. 66:20
